Ralph Jacobs Ruddell, 87, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022. Ralph was a proud retired veteran of the United States Air Force, who served as a Jet Engine Mechanic. Ralph then went on to retire from Cardinal Carryor after many years of employment. He was a longtime member of the American Legion and a faithful member of Gospel Tabernacle in Jeffersonville.
He was born on May 7, 1935, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late Maxwell and Virgie (Ashworth) Ruddell. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Ralph "Jay" Ruddell, Jr.; siblings, Max Ruddell, Don Ruddell, Albert Ruddell, and Dory Hammett.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Theresa Ruddell; children, Sherri (Ron) Jackson, Max (Traci) Ruddell, Steve (Teresa) Ruddell, and Brian (Nicole) Ruddell; daughter-in-law, Angie Ruddell; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will follow at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Ralph will be laid to rest at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.
