Ralph "Mac" McGaughey gained his angel wings on May 14, 2019 at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everet and Esther McGaughey; brother, Marion McGaughey; sisters, Hazel Bentley, Ann Tabler and Mazie Leathers; daughter, Donna Kay; and son, Richard Keith. Ralph was what you would call a "people person". He never met a stranger. His warm smile and engaging personality had a way of making everyone he met feel like they were old friends. He loved his wife and his family more than anything. Playing golf was a close second! He loved playing golf with his sons, son-in-laws, brothers, grandsons and golf buddies. There were some pretty competitive golf rounds – especially on the annual family vacation in Myrtle Beach. Being "Poppaw" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him endless joy. He had an amazing sense of humor and always appreciated a good laugh. He was truly a man of strong faith. That faith guided him through 'til his last breath.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Pat; his children, Vicki Hamlin (Kurt), Kathi Stampley (Mike), Ralph "Sonny" McGaughey (Kris), Don McGaughey (Mari) and Dean McGaughey; grandchildren, Tim Hemmer (Stephanie), Michelle Hemmer (Brian), Stephen Stampley (Ashley), Jennifer McGaughey (Michael), Marc Stampley (Kris), Kyle McGaughey, Kory McGaughey, Mindi Boggs (Daun) and Brandi Hughett (Scott); 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lester McGaughey, James McGaughey (Bea), Don McGaughey (Betty); sister, Wanda Milburn; brothers and sisters-in-law, Esther McGaughey, Ralph Leathers, Michael Egan (Pat), Jim Egan (Jean), Jean Caplinger (Bob); and many nieces and nephews.
