Ralph Alois Kruer, 78, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023. He was the owner of RK Lawn Service and a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Ralph was an avid fan of the Indiana Hoosiers and Indianapolis Colts. He enjoyed building model train sets and was very fond of his dogs, Jasper and Bennie.
He was born on October 17, 1945 in Floyds Knobs, Indiana to Albert and Rose (Kirchgessner) Kruer. In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his siblings, Norb Kirchgessner, Tillie Fink and Alberta Zipp.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 58 years, Diana (Henley) Kruer; daughters, Carmen Kruer (Stacey Christley), Karen Bell (James), Greta Barker (Mike); son, Erik Kruer; grandchildren, Loren, Diana, Tina, James, Olivia, Jasmine, McCarthy "Gus;" great-granddaughter, Alanna; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church (129 W. Daisy Lane, New Albany) with burial to follow at St. Joe Hill Catholic Cemetery in Sellersburg.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ralph's memory may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, the Alzheimer's Association or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
