Polly T. Hancock

Polly T. Hancock , 89, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023. Polly was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed playing Rook with her friends at Custer General Store. Polly was an excellent cook and took pride in her family. She never met a stranger. Polly will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

She was born on July 23, 1934 in Pulaski, Tennessee to Lexie and Mattie Tomerlin. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ira Hancock, Jr., son, Garry Hancock; and sisters, Ruby Harris and Bertha Welch.

Polly is survived by her loving family, sons, Larry (Erin) Hancock, Gregory (Kellye) Hancock, Sr.; grandchildren, Alan (Sarah) Hancock, Joshua (Lisa) Hancock, Shannon (Marty) Hancock; great-grandchildren, Austin Hancock, Adeline Gish, Sailor Gish; Alan's mother, Toni Borders; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Polly will be laid to rest with her husband, Ira, on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 North Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, KY 40160.
