Phyllis Harvey Summers

Phyllis (Harvey) Summers, 78, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Phyllis loved reading mysteries. In her younger years, she enjoyed going horseback riding and traveling with her husband. Later in life, she found joy in going to yard sales and shopping at Goodwill and thrift stores. Phyllis was a longtime member of Graceland Baptist Church.

She was born on May 10, 1944, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late James and Gertie (Polston) Harvey. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Phil Harvey; and sister, Juanita Johnson.

Phyllis is survived by her loving husband, Jack Phillip Summers, Jr.; daughter, Lynette (Donald) Casey; grandchildren, Shane (Ellen) Casey, Cody Casey, and Jesse Casey; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Maverick, and Larkyn; sister, Barbara (Joe) Kelty; sister, Linda Horton; and beloved nieces and nephew, Sherry Myers, Jeanna Horton, and Ben Horton.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). Her Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
