Phyllis Delores Stonecipher

Phyllis Delores (Stepro) Stonecipher, 89, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023. Phyllis was very involved with the Boys Scouts for over 60 years. She was a member of the VFW Post 1832 in Jeffersonville for over 30 years where she once served as President and District President.

She was born on February 19, 1934 in Corydon, Indiana to the late Eugene and Olletha Brown Stepro. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Stonecipher; daughter, Nina Darnell; sisters, Imagene West, Sheilda Troncin, and Marilyn McCutcheon; brothers, Lonnie Stepro and Melvin Stepro; and sons-in-law, Randal Johnes and Terry Conrad.

Phyllis is survived by her loving children, W. Eugene (Hildegard) McAdams, Anna Johnes, John (Peggy) Stonecipher, Bonnie Conrad, and Samuel (Brenda) Stonecipher; sisters, Eva Coleman, Dinah (Stewart) Kopp, and Mary Fouts; 25 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Abundant Life Memorial Gardens in New Albany.
