Phyllis Riley

Phyllis Riley, 60, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. She went to Jeffersontown High School. She loved playing bingo and cooking, she was the cook and caretaker of her family. Phyllis had the best german potato salad, macaroni and cheese, and lasagna in the city! She was an avid Christmas music listener, and would even call the radio station to see when Christmas music would start. Her grandkids were her pride and joy, and had to be at her home every Thanksgiving night to help set up her Christmas Tree.

She was born on November 3, 1962 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Dennis and Bonnie Shaver. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Riley, Jr.; sister, Allyson Bowen; and grandparents, Albert and Cora Murrell.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Tracy (Taveras)Whitlow, daughter, Amber (Tasha) Miller; son, Robert (Carrie) Riley; son, Keith (Theresa) Riley; and son, Jackson (Whitney) Riley; grandchildren, Shelby Plummer, Brooklyn Whitlow, Londyn Whitlow, Triniti Whitlow, Destiny Riley, Desiree Daniel, Cody Daniel, Nia'Asia Phillips, Hayden Tuten, Lilly Riley, Thomas Riley, and Temperance Riley; one great grandson on the way, Jy'Air Davis; and sisters, Mychall Smith, Nycole Shaver, and Robin Fowler. Nieces, Samantha Bowen, Autstin Smith, Jaylyn Terell, Allyson Smith, along with lifelong family and friends who will miss her dearly.


Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - East Louisville, (235 Juneau Drive). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville.
