Phyllis Jane(Dunn) Barnes

Phyllis Jane (Dunn) Barnes went to be with her Heavenly Father on September 28, 2013 with her loving family by her side. Phyllis was a woman of strong faith and was a published author and composer. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was an active member of the Chancel Choir and Sunday School teacher at Walnut Street Baptist Church for over forty years.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her son Phillip, father Val Dunn, three brothers; Willie, Maurice and Dorman Dunn, and a beloved daughter-in-law Susan "Susie" Barnes.

She is survived by her husband of sixty seven years, Roy G. Barnes, her mother Sudie Dunn, son Larry Barnes(Mary), two daughters Jennifer Fleming and Nancy Morris, four grandchildren Brian Barnes(Mith), Jessica Morris, Maurice Blanchard(Harlon), Livvy Timmons(David),and sister Velma Barry. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren and her beloved dog, Peri.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital or Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Visitation will be 4-8pm at Walnut Street Baptist Church, 1101 S Third St Louisville,Ky on Tuesday Oct 1, 2013 and 9-11am on Wednesday Oct 2, 2013 with service to follow at 11am.
