Phyllis E. Porter, 63, of Louisville, KY passed away on September 4, 2013. She was a former Certified Nurse's Assistant at Westminster Nursing Home and was a member of Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist.
She was born on October 12, 1949, in Louisville, KY to the late William and Bertha (Poynter) Porter. She was also preceded in death by her brother, William Jerome Porter Jr.; sister, Victoria Elaine Porter; brother, Victor Lane Porter; and brother, Jerry Lee Porter.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Vernell Wayne Porter; brother, Sherman Porter (Ruth) of Battle Creek, MI; and sisters, Judy Chunn (Willie) and Terry Lewis (Chuck); six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two nieces, and six nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church (3640 Cane Run Road, Louisville, KY 40211) with visitation at the church from 11:00 AM until time of service.
