Phillip Crenshaw

Phillip Crenshaw, 59, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Phillip was a loving and devoted husband, father, granddad, brother, son, uncle, cousin and friend. He enjoyed dancing, singing, and grilling. Phillip was a dedicated employee of Hometown Hauling for more than fifteen years. Phillip will be remembered for his favorite saying "Handle your business!" Phillip will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on April 8, 1964 in Louisville, Kentucky to Benjamin Mathis, Jr., and Emily Crenshaw Brown. He is preceded in death by his mother, Emily Alberta Brown; father, Benjamin Mathis, Jr.; and siblings, Linda Mathis, Kenny Mathis, Fern Mathis, and William Mathis.

Phillip is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Rita Keith; children, Mariah Crenshaw, Jakup Crenshaw, Nicola Davey, Te'Onna Davey; step-son, Tyler Williams; siblings, Terri (Larry) Brown, Roni Mathis-Nash, Gloria Dhawan, Phyllis (Edward) Johnson, Tammy Crenshaw, Garry Crenshaw, Anita Mathis, James Mathis, Lorenzo Mathis, John Mathis, Marilyn Watkins; 6 grandchildren; 1 step-grandchild; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A celebration of his life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel.
