Phillip Hiawatha Bizor, age 67 of Salem, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022. He received Christ at a very young age. He was a member of the Masonic Unity Lodge #12, a Shriner, a United States Navy Veteran, a proud member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 502, and a reserve officer for the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
Phillip was born on September 3, 1955, in Fresno, California, to Billy Bizor and Frances E. Hurd. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, LT Turner; and sister, Phyllis Brown.
He enjoyed working with his hands as a pipefitter, carpenter, and plumber. He enjoyed volunteering for Shop with a Cop and helping get supplies together during back-to-school efforts. Phillip had his own quirky sense of humor and could be described as a good neighbor. He regularly kept in touch through texts and memes. He loved listening to Watercolors on Sirius XM Radio and rarely missed his Sunday afternoon nap.
His is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Phyllis Woodford; sons, Phillip Bizor, Ayreist Bizor, and Averic Bizor; former wife Sharon Carter (mother of Ayreist and Averic); stepchildren, Tina Woodford and Lawrence Woodford, Jr. (Angela); siblings, TeKakawatha Tucker and Forest Howard; very good friend, Andy Sumner; 15 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and good friends.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funeral & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his Funeral service taking place at 4:00 p.m. Cremation will follow according to Phillip's wishes.
