Philip Sheridan Grant

February 21, 1967 — February 11, 2025

Louisville, Kentucky

Philip Sheridan Grant, a dedicated golf course professional and loving father, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025, in Milton, Kentucky, after bravely battling an illness. Born on February 21, 1967, in Louisville, Kentucky, Philip devoted his career to the sport he cherished, working on golf courses throughout his life and holding various positions, including that of superintendent.

Philip's passion for golf was matched only by his commitment to his family. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Shelby Gross (Dustin), and a proud grandfather to his granddaughter, Quinn Sheridan Gross. In addition to his immediate family, Philip is survived by his significant other, Heather Palmer; his sisters, Mona Darnell (Matthew), Lisa Greenlee (Kurt), and Pam Scarlett; his sister-in-law, Theresa Grant; his partner's mother, Sharon Denney (Greg); his partner's daughter, Samantha Riley (JT) and their son, Kolby Sheridan Riley; and his partner's son, Billy Palmer. He maintained a close relationship with the mother of his daughter, Janetta Carroll, and he was an uncle to eight nieces and nephews: James, Mandy, April, Dana, Ben, Lilly, Lindsay, and Patricia.

Philip was also predeceased by his father, Robert Allen Grant; his mother, Mary Helen Sheridan; and his brother, Gregory Allen Grant.

Outside of his career, Philip enjoyed woodworking and steelworking, creating an array of crafts that reflected his artistic spirit. His love for adventure was exemplified in his passion for riding motorcycles and dirt bikes, activities that allowed him to revel in the great outdoors. His connection to golf extended beyond his profession, as he found joy in playing the game throughout his life.

The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.

In reflecting on his legacy, Philip Sheridan Grant will be remembered not only for his contributions to the golfing community but also for the love and dedication he showed to his family and friends. He leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories cherished by all who knew him.
