Philip A. Carpenter

Philip A. "Phil" Carpenter was born November 3, 1935 in Houlton, Maine and gained his angel wings on August 17, 2022. He lived a very full and prosperous life. Phil met and married the love of his life, Lois Myers. They married December 7, 1960, in Lilly, PA. His military career took him to many places in the world. By 1972 he and Lois had six girls. Phil retired from the Army in 1977 with 24 years of service. He went on to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Business Management while working and raising his family. Phil retired from Naval Ordinance in 1999. He embarked on becoming a grandfather and great grandfather, which was on of his greatest joys.

He was preceded in death by his twin brother and partner in crime, Paul C. Carpenter and his daughters, Helen and Sarah Carpenter.

Phil leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 61 years, Lois Carpenter, daughters, Tina Keeton, Janice (Steve) Sanford, Brenda (Keith) Carpenter and Lisa Kay Dooley; grandchildren, Kelly, Katie, Kari, Aaron, Sarah, Brenda, Nathaniel, Shelby, Nicholas and Rhyland; 7 great-grandchildren and sister, Shirley Kelley.

Visitation will be Monday, August 22, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 4pm-8pm. A celebration of Phil's life will be Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 5431 Johnsontown Road, Louisville, KY beginning at 11am.

Phil will be laid to rest at Louisville Memorial Gardens - West, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY.
