Peter M. "Petey" Teel, 68, departed this life Tuesday, March 19th at home with his family.
Born in Brisbane, Australia to Edward and Eivor Teel, Pete came to the U.S. as a youngster, growing up in St. Louis and Indianapolis. He served in the U.S. Air Force with two tours in Viet Nam. After his service he attended Purdue University's School of Aviation Technology where he met his wife, Joyce Tyrrell; friend and companion for more than 40 years.
Pete enjoyed a wonderful career flying airplanes of all sizes to places all over the world. He always said he couldn't believe they paid him to fly. He retired from UPS Airlines in December of 2009.
Pete's joy in life was life itself. He exemplified the expression "Live life to the fullest".
His memory will be kept in the hearts of his wife Joyce; son, Seth; daughter, Eryn; granddaughter, Kylie; brother, Edward and wife Janet, as well as the rest of his family and friends.
Pete requested no services but asked that there be a gathering in the future for his "final" retirement party. Any who wish to honor Pete's memory may do so through a gift to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, The American Cancer Society or Hosparus of Louisville.
