Penny Elizabeth Jaime, born on December 30, 1962, in Louisville, KY, passed away on December 10, 2024, in Crestwood, KY, surrounded by her loving family. Penny's journey through life was a tapestry woven with love, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to those she cared for deeply.
Penny devoted 14 years of her professional life as a collection officer at Citi Bank, yet her heart was truly captured by her role as a volunteer for Sparc Hope, where she selflessly gave her time and compassion. Her education began with her graduation from Valley High School, followed by her attendance at Sullivan University. Beyond her career, it was her time serving in the United States Army that filled her with pride. After completing basic training and her AIT she was tasked with and given TOP SECRET & CLASSIFIED CLEARANCES for her (MOS). As she was tasked to operate the long range electrical systems for the American defense system scud missiles based in Germany. Shortly after she met her two sons father in which lead to her honorable discharge for medical reasons.
In her personal life, Penny was the embodiment of love and dedication. She was a devoted mother to her sons, Roberto Jaime, Jr. (Michelle) and Thomas E. Jaime (Hannah), and a compassionate grandmother to her cherished grandchildren—Lily-Anne C. Castello, Gabriella Goodrich, Conner J. Norton, Amaya Anna Jaime, and great-granddaughter Alayna Norton. She would love hearing the tales of her brother Bruce Cary Shrader from his travels around the globe. She found joy in her role as a younger sister to Laura Wingfield (Patrick), a half-brother to Michael K. Shrader (Kathi), and as a caring aunt to her nieces and nephews, including Brittany M. Wingfield (Steve), Cassie L. Wingfield, and Tyler P. Wingfield, as well as her great-niece Zoey A. Adamson.
Penny’s spirit shone brightly in all aspects of her life. She had a free spirit that eagerly embraced her love for travel, the excitement of Churchill Downs, and dreams of becoming an equestrian trainer or a marine biologist. She was a passionate lover of rock and metal music, particularly the iconic band KISS as well as her favorite GUNS N ROSES. She found immense joy spending game nights with family and friends. Her greatest accomplishment, however, was witnessing the growth and happiness of her family—each milestone a cherished memory in her heart.
Penny was not only a hard and dedicated worker but also a loyal sister and devoted friend. Her caring nature always placed the happiness of her family and friends above her own comfort, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her.
As we remember Penny Elizabeth Jaime, we embrace the legacy of love, compassion, and the countless memories she created with her family and friends throughout her beautiful life.
