Peggy Kessler Payne

Peggy Kessler Payne, 73, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.

She was born on October 23, 1950 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Fred and Margaret Kessler . Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her step son, Randy Wells.

Peggy was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, working in her garden, going to car shows and Mike Linnigs. She will always be remembered for her big heart; she was always willing to give someone a safe place to stay and a warm meal. Peggy had a fun sense of humor and an amazing artistic ability; she could create anything out of the simplest of things. She had a love for animals; especially her dogs. Peggy leaves behind a strong and resilient legacy that will be carried on through the people that love her most; her family.

Peggy is survived by her loving family, daughter, Heather Currin (Greg Bell) Payne, son, Jamie (Becky) Payne , Jr., grandchildren, Hayley Currin (Steven Searcy) Payne, Aryel LaShay Payne, Kayla Elizabeth (Ryan) Ritchey, and Austin James (Sherry) Payne, great grandchildren, Hayven Rose Searcy, Paisley Elizabeth Ritchey, Riley Brooke Ritchey, Wilson James Payne and Jackson Gray Payne, sister, Nancy Kessler Anthony and her significant other, David Kessinger.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm on Thursday, November 16th at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:30 pm on Thursday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville, Kentucky.

The family requests that contributions in Peggy's memory be made to the KY Humane Society.
