Peggy Ann Brooks

Peggy Ann "Bling Bling" Brooks, 83, gained her wings on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at St's. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. She was born in Topeka, Kansas to MacNeil Oden who married Roberta Plumb. Peggy was a faithful member of Meadowlawn Baptist Church and sang in the choir, was a trustee and belong to the missionary auxiliary. She always had a flair for music and sometimes played the piano and organ as she grew up, she also had a love for Jazz music. With her husband being in the military, Peggy was fortunate to be able to travel many places, including Alaska, Japan, Hawaii and taking cruises. For 30 years Peggy was a librarian at various locations in Louisville and retired from Sun Valley Library in Valley Station and had a great love of reading.

She was preceded in death by her parents, MacNeil and Roberta Oden and her second husband, George Brooks.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Donella Reed-Allen; grandchildren, Courtney Reed-Adkins, Christopher L. (Rita Swartwood) Allen, Shawnta D. (Johnathan Berry) Allen and Donta A. Allen; great grandchildren, Dezire`, Olivia, Attikus, Cameron & Dallas; brother; Don Oden; niece, Cynthia Oden; nephew, Don Christopher Oden; cousins, Amber Plumb and Barbara Jean & a host of friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Meadowlawn Baptist Church, 12103 E. Orell Road, Louisville, KY, from 11am-1pm with a celebration of Peggy's life beginning at 1pm.

A graveside service for Peggy will be Friday, May, 3, 2019, at Bethany Cemetery, 10917 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY beginning at 2:30pm.
