Paula Schanding

Paula Schanding was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She passed away peacefully at home at age 80 on January 12, 2025. 

 She was born to Stan and Alice Werbrich. She received a nursing degree from St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing in Covington, Kentucky, where she met her husband, Don Schanding. She became a mother to Don, Amy (Scott), Greg, Brian (Loren), David (Lisa), and Jeff; grandmother to Megan, Nico, Katherine, Emily, Anna, Lela, Olivia, Henry, Jonah, Caroline, Kate, Isabella, and Madelynn; and great-grandmother to Harry. She is also survived by her siblings Greg (Linda), JoAnn, and Susan (Larry) and nephews Daniel, Paul, Chris, and Gregory. 

 Paula loved books, and after rearing her children, she became a librarian at Barr Memorial Library in Fort Knox, Kentucky. She also enjoyed music, gardening, and real estate investing, but she was at her happiest when surrounded by her grandchildren.
