Paul Vincent Higdon, Jr.

Paul V. Higdon Jr., 59, died November 6, 2023, at the Hosparus Health Inpatient Care Center after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Louisville Kentucky on June 17th, 1964, to Paul V. Higdon Sr. of Grayson County Kentucky and Virgie M. Gibbons of Louisville, Kentucky.

Paul graduated from Edmonson County High School Class of 1983. Following High School, he attended RETS Electric Institute and Graduated in 1991, with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He went on to gain a certificate in different computer skills and programs. Paul began at UPS while he was still attending RETS as a package loader at the airport Following graduation he applied for a technicians job at UPS, and that began his 31 years of dedicated service for UPS as a computer technician.

Paul was one of a kind person. He believed in being loyal and devoted to his family, especially the elders. He was quick to help and was easy to talk to. If you were his friend, he would do anything for you. He enjoyed making people laugh and spending time eating out with his friends. He absolutely loved Kentucky Basketball and NASCAR. Paul never married but created a close family of his own. His bonus family included Carol, Tony, Shelbie, Little Tony, Clint and Jenna Thompson and his little buddies Henry, Grace, and Emmy.

Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Virgie Mae Gibbons, both sets of grandparents, many aunts, uncles, and cousins from both sides of the family and Paul's fur babies, Betty and Mae who will be buried with him.

Paul is survived by his sister, Melinda Higdon Lynch Davidson (Michael) of Georgia; nephews, Nicholas Lynch, Louisville Kentucky and Matthew Lynch (Dawn) of Seattle, Washington; fur baby, Buttercup and his whole bonus family.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 3pm-8pm. A funeral mass will be Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Incarnation Catholic Church, 2229 Lower Hunters Trace, Louisville, KY 40216, beginning at 11am.

Paul will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40213.
