Paul A. Endris, Sr., 94, of Clarksville entered eternal life on Saturday, October 1, 2022. Paul was a retired graphic artist, who worked for Southern Gravure of Louisville, Kentucky. Paul attended the University of Louisville and served in the 152nd regiment of the Indiana Army National Guard. Paul served for many years as the president of the Clarksville Parks Department. During his tenure, he worked as the creative force behind the development of the Wooded View Golf Course and the Endris Lodge, which was named after him.
Paul was a remarkable fine arts painter, woodworker, and master carpenter, who often used these talents in service to various organizations. These organizations included: the New Albany Deanery Youth Ministries, Mount Saint Francis, and the Boy Scouts of America. He was an avid golfer, bowler, and baseball player, who supported Indiana University's collegiate sports teams. Paul enjoyed watching IU basketball games, listening and dancing to swing and big band music, and travel. Visits to France were among his most cherished adventures. He was a devoted Catholic, who served his home parish of St. Anthony's Church for many years.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Margaret Endris; his wife, Margaret Elizabeth (Patty), to whom he was married for 58 years; and his four children, Joseph, Paul II, Lee Ann, and Daniel. His surviving relatives include his daughter, Mary Pat Willis (Jim); daughters-in-law, Susan Endris (Paul II), and Debbie Endris (Daniel); grandchildren, Kristin Willis-McKenzie (Scott), Jaelyn Endris, Chelsea Endris (Vadim), and Elaine Endris; and a great-grandchild, Mykie McKenzie.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Newcomers Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150). A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2022, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (316 North Sherwood Avenue, Clarksville, IN 47129), followed by his burial at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
