Paul "Mike" Emery

Paul "Mike" Emery, 61, of Henryville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022. He graduated from Floyd Central High School in 1978 and was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Mike was an avid fan of the Indiana Hoosiers and had earned a 1st Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing golf, and celebrating his favorite holidays, the Fourth of July and Thanksgiving. Paul was also a member of Mount Herman Baptist Church.

He was born on September 15, 1960, in New Albany, Indiana. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Paul Emery; and grandson, Jayson Randall. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Barbara Emery; children, Cassandra Randall (Jonathan) and Paul Emery, Jr.; mother, Sandra Bedan (James); grandchildren, Caydence and Aurelia Randall and Christopher Emery-Mattingly; sisters, Cynthia Weaver (Doug), Darcy Wilson (David, Sr.), Tracy Dues (Ron), Robin Sappenfield, Theresa Grubbs (Charles), and Kelly Puckett (Phillip); brothers, Chuck, James (Giesella), and David Lockman; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Diablo.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 9:00 a.m. His funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with burial and military honors to follow at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.
