Patrick Daniel Popp

Patrick Daniel Popp, age 71 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Shelby Co, KY on July 26th, 1952. After graduating from Shelby Co. high School, he married and enlisted in the Air Force where he was a Radio Operator. After the Air Force he graduated from Bible College in Tennessee. Eventually he moved to Louisville, married his current wife and worked various jobs including driving a cement truck and working for a security company at the Ford Truck plant. After retirement he pursued his real passion of oil painting and served as Sunday school director, usher and Choir member at Hillcrest Baptist Church. He also worked at previous churches with the children ministries. Patrick is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ethel (Yeary) Popp; and brothers, Greg and Harold "Scooter" Popp.

Patrick is survived by his wife of 15 years, Kathryn Popp; a son, Matthew Popp; step-children, Ginger (Tony) Collins, James (Susan) McDill and Jennifer (Jeremy) Hardison; and a brother, Mike (Brenda) Popp; along with several step-grand-children and step-great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 11am to 1pm on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky, with a funeral ceremony there at 1pm. Private burial will be at Bagdad Cemetery.
