Patrick Craig Mackin, 61, of Louisville, KY passed away in his home on Friday, April 5, 2024. He was born on August 3, 1962 in Louisville, Kentucky to Norman and Mary Joyce Mackin (Schmalz). He served as a master electrician for 30 years, working for several contractors throughout his career. He is survived by his daughters, Lauren Hodgins (Ken) and Kelly Burchett (Josh), and his three grandsons whom he was so very proud of and adored: Finn, Kip, and Merrick. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Joyce Schalmz, and five siblings: Cindy (Wayne), Kim (Kent), Danny (Karen), Kevin (Rhonda), and Shawn (Tim), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father Norman Louis Mackin.
Pat enjoyed spending time outside, hunting, fishing, and also was a grill master and master gardener, growing some of the biggest and best tasting tomatoes around. He was a loyal friend and enjoyed a lifelong friendship with his best friends since elementary school: Rob Bube, Dan Carnahan, and Greg and Bev Carter.
His family and friends wish God-speed to him on his new heavenly journey, before stopping off at the Virgin Islands. We will remember his smile, his kindness, his amazing Thanksgiving turkey, home-preserved foods, and his love for all of us. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts and lives of those he loved.
