Patrick Michael Hennessy III, 34, was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, Kilo Company, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; passed away suddenly on July 1, 2021. Patrick joined the USMC in 2005 and was assigned to 3rd Battalion 8th Marine Regiment, Kilo Company. In 2006 he deployed with Kilo Company to Ramadi, Iraq in 2006. After that, he deployed again with 3/8 on the 22nd MEU in 2007-2008, and Helmand Province, Afghanistan in 2008-2009.
After the Marines, Patrick's most important and most meaningful accomplishment was being a Father. He dedicated his life to raising his 4 children & showing them what being a father truly means. From catcher to cheer Dad there was nothing he wouldn't do for them. He was the epitome of a true family man. A loving and true best friend to his wife whom loved him dearly for 13 years. He was everyone's friend, protector and counselor. He'd do anything for his family and extended family. A true hero not only in War, but in all of our hearts.
He was born on August 14, 1986 in Cincinnati , Ohio to Patrick Jr. and Michelle (Ciambelli) Hennessy. He is preceded in death by his Grandparents.
Patrick is survived by his loving Wife of 13 Years, Candace Hennessy, Son, Michael Cockerell, Daughter, Brooklyn Cockerell, Son, Patrick Hennessy, IV, Son, Leo Hennessy, Mother & Step-Father, Michelle (Darius ) Phelps Phillips, Father, Patrick Hennessy, Jr., Father, Dan Murphy, Brothers, Craig Phelps, David Phelps, Sean Murphy, and Devin Murphy, Grandfather, Elio Ciambelli, Grandparents, Noemi & Ronald Lubbers. Patrick also leaves behind to cherish his memory his Mother-in-Law, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Brother & Sister-in-Laws, Cousins, Friends, Marine Corps Brothers, and Extended Family.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central) in Radcliff, Kentucky.
