Patrick Cardinale

Patrick Cardinale, a beloved family man and dedicated professional, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky, at the age of 78. Born on May 22, 1946, in the Bronx, New York, Patrick was the cherished son of the late Nancy and Rosario Alexander Cardinale.

He pursued his education diligently, graduating from Roosevelt High School before attending Bronx Community College, where he obtained an associate's degree in electronics or telecommunications. A proud veteran, Patrick served in the United States Army, an experience that instilled in him values of loyalty and commitment that he carried throughout his life. 

For over thirty years, Patrick made significant contributions as a Lineman at Verizon, showcasing his hard work and dedication to his craft. Known for his humor and fun-loving spirit, he forged lasting relationships with coworkers and friends alike, embodying kindness and a strong work ethic that left a lasting impression on all who entered his life.

Patrick was not only devoted to his career but also to his family, which he regarded as his proudest accomplishment. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn Cardinale, and their four sons: Patrick Cardinale, Jr., Scott Cardinale, Nicholas Cardinale, and Marc Cardinale. He was also a doting grandfather to Logan Cardinale, who brought immense joy to his life.

In addition to his professional and familial commitments, Patrick enjoyed various hobbies that enriched his life and those around him. He found pleasure in bowling, acting in church shows, gardening, reading, and crafting, often sharing these interests with family and friends, fostering bonds that will be cherished forever.

Patrick's life was marked by devotion, love, and laughter, leaving behind a legacy that will inspire future generations. He will be deeply missed by his family and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, February 25, at 12:00pm, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions East Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville KY 40243. 

The family asks that donations be made in honor of Patrick, to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
