Patricia Anne (Moynihan) Stumler, 82, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019, in Batavia, New York. She was an active member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church. Pat was a life-long avid fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and also enjoyed playing bridge and golf.
She was born on October 9, 1936, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Thomas and Mary (Anderson) Moynihan. She graduated from Ball State Teacher's College where she met her husband, Irvin. They then married in 1958, and she began teaching English and Latin at various schools in northern Indiana before starting a family.
Pat was active in the Floyd County Democratic party serving as an inspector at her polling location and was a long-time member at Valley View Golf Club where she served as treasurer for many years.
Pat is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Irvin Stumler; daughter, Peggy Torres; son, Randy Stumler (Karen); grandchildren, Nathan, Sarahjane (Evan), Henry, Oscar, Alfie, and Mary Stumler, Maria Wimsatt (Logan), and Marleigh Torres.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Saturday after 9:00 a.m. at the church. A rosary will be prayed on Friday at 3:00 p.m. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
