Patricia A. (Sammons) Rake, 72, of Starlight passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2012. Patti was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Starlight and employed as a hostess at Joe Huber Family Restaurant.
She is survived by her sisters, Lona Parr (Jim), Betty Dooley, Nancy Doutaz (Denny), Tammie Vitt (Mike); brother, Dan Sammons (Vickie); stepchildren, Diane Martin (Larry), Terri Sprigler (Gene), Marilyn Rowan (John), Mark Rake (Cheryl), and Paula Andres (Greg); 17 step grandchildren; 13 step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Rake.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (8310 St. John's Road, Starlight, Indiana) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or American Stroke Association (1510 Collections Center Drive, Chicago, IL 60693).
