Pamela S. Welch, affectionately known as Pam, passed away on March 2, 2025, in her beloved hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Born on August 24, 1947, she was the daughter of John and Mildred Fowler, who predeceased her.
Pam was a lifelong learner and dedicated professional, earning her degree in nursing from Jefferson Community College after graduating from Durrett High School. For an impressive 52 years, she served as a registered nurse at Norton Audubon Hospital, specializing in pediatrics and later taking on the role of quality coordinator. Her commitment to her patients and the community was evident in every aspect of her work, embodying both compassion and expertise.
Beyond her remarkable career, Pam was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her two sons, Jonathan Ryan Welch (Kimberly) and Andrew Scott Welch (Amanda), along with her cherished grandchildren, Hailey Welch, Ryan Welch, Donovan Welch, and Michael Bishop. Pam was deeply devoted to her family, often spending her time cheering on her grandkids at various sporting events, including basketball, baseball, volleyball, and cheerleading.
Pam had a zest for life that was infectious. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and dining out, and had a passion for the arts, frequently attending plays and performances. Her warm personality and loving spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on March 12, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, located at 235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY 40243. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Pamela S. Welch will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and community, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication.
