Pamela K. (Johnson) Harriman, 52, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 after a courageous six-year battle with dermatomyositis. Pam graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in elementary education. She had a passion for children and was a teacher in every sense of the word. Pam was creative and had a real touch for beauty. She served a term in Paraguay, South America as a missionary with her husband, Jim. However, Pam ministered to all those she encountered until the moment of her death. Pam attended Christ's Community Church of the Nazarene in New Albany where she taught Sunday School.
She was born on March 29, 1958 in Phoenix, Arizona to Reverend Gordon W. Johnson of Indianapolis, Indiana and the late Ruth E. (Frey) Johnson.
In addition to her father, Pam is survived by her devoted husband of 22 years, Dr. James E. "Jim" Harriman; her children, Diana Marie and Isaac James Harriman, all of New Albany; her sister, Cynthia P. Sinn and her husband, Dr. Russell Sinn of Indianapolis; and parents-in-law, Harold and Evelyn Harriman of Upland, Indiana.
Her visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday, August 26, at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southern Indiana Chapel (formerly Generations Funeral Home), 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany and after 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the church. The Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 27 at Christ's Community Church of the Nazarene (4924 Charlestown Road, New Albany) with a private burial on Saturday at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana.
Pam leaves behind a legacy of love for Jesus, family, and friends. The impact of her life has been felt around the world, and her family and those who love her rejoice at her homecoming. She is free!
