Orville L. Allen, Sr., 72, of Memphis, Indiana passed away on December 11, 2011. A U.S. Army veteran, Orville was born on February 3, 1939 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late James W. and Monzelle (Robinson) Allen.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Jennifer K. (Cooley) Allen; children, Lee Allen, Leslie Kruer (Ted), Karen Doran, and David Allen (Nicky); sister, Betty Jean Stephens; grandchildren, Bradley, Tascha, Raymond, Alicia, Kendall, and Ryan; and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sons, Donald Ray and Ronald Joe Allen, and brother, Billy Allen.
His visitation will be from 11 to 8 PM on Wednesday, December 14 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150). His Funeral Service will be at 11 AM on Thursday with military honors. Cremation was chosen by the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Token Club of New Albany (506 Pearl Street, New Albany, IN 47150).
