Oneila M. Carter

Oneila May Carter, 91, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024. Oneila was extremely loving & caring and would always be there when you needed her. She enjoyed life to its fullest especially when she got to play the slots. She always loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Oneila will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was born on June 26, 1933 in Echols, Kentucky to Ernest and Geneva (Wakeland) Woodburn. She is preceded in death by her Father, Ernest Woodburn, Mother, Geneva Woodburn, Husband, George William Carter, Sr., Brother, James Bradley Woodburn.

Oneila is survived by her 4 Children, George (Verona), Jr., Wayne (Jill), Sr., Dana, and Kim; 11 Grandkids, Brian, Lisa, Wayne Jr, Kyle, Amy, Angela, Allison, Ralph Jr, Melissa, Darryl Jr, John, Jr; 14 Great-Grandkids, Brayden, Aniston, Bryson, Nick, Aiden, Lexi, Kate, Hartley, Liam, Kaylie, Shelby, Memphis, Tenley, and Rowan; 2 Great-Great-Grandkids, Alexandria and Greyson, as well as a host of family and friend to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will take place Friday, January 10th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Newcomer Southwest Louisville Chapel. A service will immediately follow after the visitation and then the family will lay her to rest in Bethany Cemetery.
