Onda Mae Pennington

Onda Mae Pennington went home to be with her Lord September 1, 2012. Onda was born April 15, 1929 in Piqua, OH the daughter of Sherman and Goldie Cassidy. She was a member of the Advance Methodist Church of Flatwoods, KY and was an active member of the United Methodist Women and their Missionaries. For many years she served as assistant treasurer for her church and was a member of the Honorable Kentucky Colonels.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her sister Eleanor Kearns.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Harvey E. Pennington (Tom) whom she traveled hand and hand with. She is the mother of 3 children; Harvey E. Pennington II (Pat) of Crestwood, Kimberly P. Dunaway (Robert) of Louisville, Tara Witt (Ashley) of Irvine, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and her loving daschund, Arod.

The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the staff of Meadowview Health & Rehabilitation Center and Hosparus who provided her with loving care in her final days.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home 235 Juneau Dr, Tuesday 5:00 – 8:00 PM and Wednesday 9:30 – 10:30 AM with the funeral to follow at 10:30 AM and burial to follow at KY Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY.

In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to Alzheimers Association.
