Obie Guy Mann Jr.

August 25, 1943 — December 29, 2021

Obie Guy Mann Jr., was born in Centreville, Mississippi on August 25, 1943 and died in Ekron, Kentucky on December 29, 2021 at the age of 78. He joined the Air Force in 1962 and became a member of the Strategic Air Command. He was born again and joined Rockford View United Baptist Church in May 1972 and was a Mason at the Valley-Daylight 511 Lodge. At the age of 57, Guy started Tae Kwon Do and later earned his second degree black belt. He enjoyed all things food, and never tasted any food he disliked. In giving directions, he guided you by restaurants. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Obie Sr. & Erna Mae Mann.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Brenda, son; Robert (Carrie) Mann; daughter, Rebecca (Jody) Carrier; sisters, Marjorie Phipps and Karen Mann; brother, James (Angie) Mann; grandchildren, Emmie, Maddie, Katie, Joe, and Libby, aunt, Marjorie Causey. Guy also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, at Rockford View United Baptist (2511 Wilkerson Ave) with burial and Military Honors to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
