Novy Frederick Stroud, 75, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014. He was a retired truck driver, enjoyed going camping as well as fishing. Fred enjoyed life to the fullest, loved to square-dance and karaoke.
He was born on May 21, 1939 in English, Indiana to the late Charles W. and Vernida (Gilliett) Stroud. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Marilyn Simpson, Robert Stroud, Martha Derby, Brenda and Linda Stroud; and son-in-law, Gary Hendrix.
Fred is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley A. (Wiseman) Stroud; daughters, Sheila Romines (John), Tamela Cochran (Charles); siblings, Betty Jean White, Charles Stroud (Jane), Guido Stroud (Sue), Eunice Swartz, David Stroud (Joan), Mary White; brother-in-law, Albert Simpson; grandchildren, Kristen Hendrix (Bruce), Tracy Carr (Rick), Brandi Herron (Shaun), Charles Cochran, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Gregory, Gracie, Brandon, Paxton, Preston, Emma; and his beloved dog, Joe.
Cremation was chosen following Fred's wishes. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane New Albany, Indiana 47150) with a Memorial Service taking place at 7 PM.
