Norman Lester Kaegin , 94, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023.
He was born on July 30, 1929 in Jeffersontown , Kentucky to the late Henry and Emma (Wright) Kaegin. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Louise Kaegin, son, Daryl Kaegin, granddaughter, Melissa Wood and his siblings.
Norman served our country during the Korean War while enlisted in the U.S. Army. He then went on to work for International Harvester; retiring after 30 years. Norman was an extremely hard working man. After his first retirement, Norman went on to work for another 20 years at JP Amusement Company; retiring at the age of 75.
Norman is survived by his loving family, children, Terry Kaegin, Vickie Kaegin, Cathy Hume, Tina (Jeff) Reed, grandchildren, Travis Hite, Lisa Hume, Elijah Kaegin-Force, Joshua Kaegin, Phillip Wood, Jr., Marlana Wood, Jeffrey Reed, Jr., Tyler Reed, 6 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family that will miss him very much.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, August 7th and 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 8th at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
