Norma Jean Dakin, age 83 of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025. Loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was originally from Middlesbrough, England, where she met her husband of 63 years, Peter. Norma and Peter immigrated to the United States in 1968. They went on to live a wonderful and adventurous life in America, living in five different states. Together, they traveled the world on their vacations. Norma is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Doris Borrow. Norma was known for her beautiful gardens and exquisite sewing skills, crafting handmade dresses and holiday ornaments with grace. She excelled at cooking, enjoyed reading good books and watching ice skating, and loved spending time with her family.
Norma is survived by her husband, Peter; their two sons, Andrew (Sarah) and Stephen (Heather); a brother, Ken (Tricia); and four grandchildren, Benjamin, Maxwell, Audrey, and Malcolm; and a host of relatives and friends.
A gathering to share memories will be held at 3pm on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243, followed by a period of visitation until 5pm.
Gifts of remembrance may be made to the Louisville Free Public Library.
