Nola Hughes-Moorman

Nola Hughes – Moorman, nee Byford, 87, loving wife and mother, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013.
She was a member of Eastwood Christian Church and a retired employee of Merrick Printers. In her leisure time she enjoyed singing, dancing, and shopping.
She was preceded in death by her parents Noah Byford and Margaret Rutledge; step-father Beckham Rutledge; brother, Rudy Rutledge; and sister, Emogene Curry. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Shannon Hughes, Sr., and loving husband, John H. Moorman.
She is survived by her beloved sons, Shannon L. "Butch" Hughes, Jr. and Jerry A. Hughes; sister, Mary Ann Parsons; brother, Buddy Rutledge; and half-sister Loraine Tichner; as well as five grandsons, Travis, Shannon III, Adrian, Greg, and Noah Hughes; one granddaughter, Lisa Swinney; six great-grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4pm to 8pm, Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243. Funeral service will be 10am, Wednesday, March 27 at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Jeffersontown Cemetery.
The family requests donations be made to the Home of the Innocents in her name.
