Nicholas Bernard Garrett, age 64, of Louisville, passed away September 22, 2012.
Nick was a loving family man, magnificent storyteller, talented artist, Navy veteran, and respected employee of United Utility Supply/Rural Cooperative for 20 plus years. He never met a stranger and delighted in entertaining a room. His zest for life and adventure was evident in all aspects of his life. Nick was a member of Knob Creek Gun range and the Rockford Lane Baptist Church dart ball team.
Nick is preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Linda Gutgsell Garrett, his mother, Imelda Garrett, father, John Garrett, and brother, Johnny Garrett. He is survived by his siblings, Liz Garrett Harvey, Kate Garrett Rogers, and Carl Garrett; children, Brittney Star Garrett (Jeff Thomas) and Nicholas August Garrett (Tiffany Marlett); and grandchildren Elijah and Wyatt.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Jeanne Thompson, Dr. Robert Schwartz, Dr. Staci Mandrola, and the nursing staff at the VA Hospice Unit for their professional and compassionate care.
A dual celebration of Linda and Nick's lives will be held Sunday, September 30th, from 2 to 6 p.m., at the Cornerstone Cottage, 3799 Bardstown Road, Louisville KY. with a Remembrance Service at 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation.
