Nettie M. Luckett

Nettie M. Luckett, aged 88, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on August 15, 1936, in New Albany, Indiana, Nettie spent her life dedicated to her family and her career as a housekeeper with her own cleaning business until her retirement.

Throughout her life, Nettie was cherished for her unwavering dedication to her loved ones. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Known for her strong faith, Nettie found joy in simple pleasures, such as birds, flowers and growing tomatoes, making delicious fried green tomatoes, and listening to heartfelt traditional country music, especially her favorite artist, Reba McEntire. She also enjoyed watching Daystar Ministry videos, which reinforced her deep-rooted beliefs.

Nettie is survived by her beloved children, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a brother and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, and siblings.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN 47150. This will be followed by a funeral service commencing at 3:00 PM at the same location.

It was Nettie's requests that contributions in her memory be made to Ronald McDonald House.
