Mrs. Neathia M. Bell-Parks, age 76 of Crestwood passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2011. She was a former resident of Rockford, Illinois and Hollywood, Florida. She was a member of Green Castle Baptist Church and was known as the "Hat Lady", a retiree of Illinois Bell Telephone, with over 25 years of service, and an alumnus of Rockford Business College. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Parks, her father Augusta Gulley, her brother Charles O. Gulley and Grandson Curtis L. Dickens.
Mrs. Bell-Parks is survived by her mother, Mrs. Azzie Box Gulley; children, Toni L. Rideout (George), Curtis L. Bell, Jr. and Marcus B. Bell; sisters, Mary D. Parker and Helen M. Robinson; sister-in-law, Loretta Gulley (Charles O.); 4 Grandchildren, Nina L.S. Bell, Sharnetta Dickens, Derek A. Rideout and Alishia N. Rideout; and 7 Great-grandchildren, Erionah Griffin, Delani Dickens, Jaden Griffin, Demiron Dickens, Dacari Dickens, Delanio Dickens and Erin Griffin. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews and many who loved her very much.
Her home-going celebration will be 1:00 pm Monday, March 28, 2011 at Green Castle Baptist Church, 4970 Murphy Lane, Louisville with the Rev. James Pitts officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 11:30 am until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer, Blood Disorder Center (CBC) in Louisville, Kentucky.
