Nathaniel Kellen Gary

Nathaniel Kellen Gary, 23, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023. He was born on October 6, 2000 in Louisville, Kentucky. Nate's middle name meant "Mighty Warrior" in Irish and he lived up to that from a young age. At the age of 4, he was a heart transplant recipient in Cleveland, Ohio and he's been roaring like a lion ever since. Nate was a "daddy's boy" who had a passion for Irish music and cartoons. He could recite every word to The Lion King, Toy Story and Cars movies. His love for Lightning McQueen led to his joy in watching NASCAR with his Pawpaw Greg. He has had a great time giving and getting haymakers with his Papaw Gary. Nate never met a stranger and was everyone's friend, so he was always ready to give you "knuckles" when you crossed paths. The amount of lives that Nate has touched will go to "Infinity and Beyond."

Nate is survived by his loving parents, Michael & Amy Gary; birth mother, Allison Rickard; sisters, Macayla, Arianna, and Josayln; grandparents, Michael T. Gary, Alan & Bea Lukee, and Greg & Brenda Rickard (he loved his "Emmie"); uncles, Justin (Andrea) Gary and Jonathan (Amber) Gary; and many cousins, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Jane Gary; and uncle, Derek Rickard.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, December 22, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany).
