Nathaniel D. Bard

Nathaniel David Bard (Nate) passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 after 56 years of life.
Nate was born August 21, 1957 in Jeffersonville, IN to William and Margret Bard. He completed his education in local public and private schools. Nate was a long time employee of Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) where he began his career at Roosevelt Elementary. He then served for many years as a teacher assistant at Dann C. Byck Elementary School prior to founding and coordinating the JCPS Early Childhood Resource Center formerly located at Old Male High School. During his tenure with JCPS, Nate enriched the lives of thousands of students and teachers with his kind spirit and his artistic talents.
Nate was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his siblings Jimmy James Bard, Mickey Bard (Shereta), Mary Bard Ford, Ivan Bard, Paul Bard, Michael Bard, Margret Bard, Peter Bard, his special friend James Wilson and a host of relatives and friends. Services for Mr. Bard will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home located at 10304 Dixie Highway in Louisville. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 10-12 followed by a brief service to celebrate his life. He will be laid to rest at Cave Hill Cemetery immediately following the service.
