Nancy (Conway) Willis, was born on September 23, 1942, and departed peacefully in New Albany, Indiana, on September 24, 2024. She leaves a legacy filled with cherished memories, laughter, and an unyielding love for family that will be felt for generations to come.
Nancy was a spirited individual who loved to play cards and was known to occasionally bend the rules. These card games were a ritual filled with laughter echoing around the room. She loved Christmas and there was more than one year when the Christmas tree never made it to the box. Hallmark movies were a staple when you came to visit Mamaw. No matter how many times she watched the same movie, she acted as if it was the first.
Her heart was big, especially when it came to her family. Nancy took immense delight in spending time with her sons: Gary (Becky) Clemmons, Charles (Kasey) Clemmons, and Brian (Jessica) Clemmons; her remarkable grandchildren: Brittany (Kermit), Bailey, Robert, Katelynn, Halle, Gracie, Jullian, and Thomas; brother, Sonny Conway (Jeanette); and nephews, Joey and Chris. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she cherished the bonds they shared.
Nancy was also a devoted great-grandmother, a role she embraced with open arms and an abundance of love. Her great-grandchildren-Destinee, Jordynn, Kiarra, Ava, Kaeda, Travis, Clare, Sara, Rydan, Jonray, Paige, Parker, and Piper-were sources of endless joy for her.
Not only was she a pillar of strength for her family, but she also found companionship in her beloved pets, particularly in her favorite dog, Copper. Her love for animals matched her caring spirit.
Nancy's memory will forever remain intertwined with the lives of her loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Conway and Louise Kays Conway, her beloved husband, James Dennis Willis, and her siblings: G.W. Conway, Elwood Conway, Leon Conway, Louise Pierpoint, and Sue Anna Epperson.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help at a later date. She will then be laid to rest with her husband at Highview Cemetery in Chaplin, Kentucky.
