Nancy (Lapp) Gibbons

Nancy (Lapp) Gibbons, 81, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024. She had a great work ethic, retiring on multiple occasions from several government agencies. More than anything, Nancy was dedicated to her family and loved her grandchildren.

She was born on October 23, 1942 in Wichita, Kansas to John Lapp and Naomi (Means) Hanchett. Along with her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her daughter, Dena Sparrow.

Nancy is survived by her son, Jeffrey Daggett (Michelle Cooper); son-in-law, Gary Sparrow; grandchildren, Korey Brooks (Courtney), Emily Baumann (Billy), Alicia Densford (Brian); eight great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Wright; and good friends, Jodi Woodall and Jane Freeman.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with her funeral service taking place at 6:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest privately at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
