Nancy D.(Wells) Hogan

Nancy D. (Wells) Hogan, 90, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Lincoln Hills Nursing Home. She was a retired social worker for the state of Illinois after working some 25 years. Nancy loved playing cards and over the course of her life was involved in many bridge clubs. In her younger years, she enjoyed cross stitching and traveling. Nancy could easily be described as having a great sense of humor and a generous person almost to a fault.

Nancy was born on December 23, 1921 in Lawrenceville, Illinois to the late Pearley and Phoebe (Hughes) Wells. She was also preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, David W. Hogan. Nancy is survived by her children, Cathie Hogan, Dave Hogan, Andy Hogan (Anita); brother, Maurice Stiker; grandchildren, Frances Wells Hogan, Aeron Hogan, Aedrea Hogan, Blake, Chad, and Joshua Hillenbrand.

Cremation was chosen following Nancy's wishes. A memorial service will be held in the spring. Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) is handling the arrangements.

Contributions in Nancy's memory may be made to the Humane Society or Hosparus – the Community Hospice of Southern Indiana.
