Murrel Anne (Lone) Schweitzer

Murrel Anne (Lone) Schweitzer, 83, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023. She was an avid gardener and member of the Bonsai and Orchid Societies. Murrel Anne loved her family deeply and enjoyed following her grandchildren in their sporting and school activities. She was a supporter of the arts and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She was born on October 24, 1939, in Milltown, Indiana, to Paul and Edna May (Heishman) Lone. In addition to her parents, Murrel Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Ken Schweitzer; daughter-in-law, Jeanie; and brother, Kim Lone.

Murrel Anne is survived by her children, Scott Schweitzer, Julie Schweitzer, Lori Hampton-Schweitzer, and Chris Schweitzer (Kelly Smith); grandchildren, Justin (Karli), Drew, Joshua, and Zachary Hampton, and Alora, Casey (Blayden McMahel), and Jadyn Schweitzer; siblings, Paul Lone, Marlene Hayden (Larry), Melanie Lone, and Philip Lone (Lisa); sister-in-law, Donna Lone; good family friend, Shawna Allen; and she had one great-grandchild on the way.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1840 E. Eighth Street, Jeffersonville) with burial to follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Crandall, Indiana.
