Freeman, Morris Dewey, 86 Entered eternal life December 30, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Norma Freeman.
He was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and worked throughout his life as an accountant. He was a member of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and a past president of the local IMA chapter. He served in France during the Korean War. He began leading his high school Sunday School class at the age of 16 and remained active in church activities for the rest of his life. He was a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church for nearly 50 years and served as Chairman of the Deacons many terms. He volunteered to audit the church finances until nearly the end of his life. He was also a Sunday School teacher at St. Matthews in both the Children and Adult Departments.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Louise; daughter, Lisa; son, John (Debbie); grandchildren, Laura, Caroline and Sarah; brother, Homer Freeman Jr. (Freida) and nieces, Kathy Ostermiller (Peter) and Nancy Brown (Bill).
Visitation will be held at Newcomer, Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Chapel 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243 from 2-8 pm, Thursday, January 4th. A service will be held at St. Matthews Baptist Church on Friday, January 5th at 10:00 am.
