Monika Maria Jackson

July 1, 1954 — June 29, 2024

Louisville

Monika Maria Jackson was born July 1st of 1954 in Aschaffenburg, Germany. She was the 3rd oldest of 5 children to the late Erhard & Elisabeth (Phillip) Kempf. She departed this life on Saturday, June 29th of 2024 at noon. She was joined in Holy Matrimony with Samuel Wayne Jackson on March 2, 1973.

Monika attended Schulzetrum High School in Aschaffenburg, Germany. Growing up she participated in Gymnastics, and Fencing. After high school Monika met Samuel while he was in the Army Stationed in Erlanger, Germany and they had been together since. Monika moved to the US shortly after and she spoke broken English. She taught herself to speak English by watching TV, reading magazines, books and learning from family and friends. Monika took up modeling and stole the runway. Her father called her his "movie star". She worked at other various places, such as: Daycare, Stuarts, and Casual Corner to name a few. For a short portion of a time, she stayed at home and eventually babysat her fav four. She began working at WAKO Electronics where she retired as a Supervisor in December of 2019. Before retiring Monika became a US citizen on June 26, 2015.

To know Monika was to LOVE her. She was witty, charismatic, graceful, loving, honest, and if her words didn’t say it…her facial expressions did. She really hated to cook but her food took you to places unknown and warmed your heart. You best believe that at her gatherings she made everyone feel at home while she sipped her wine. She was the light of her family and would give anything to her children and grandchildren.

Monika leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband Samuel “Wayne”; and caring children, Jovanna “JJ” Jackson, and Katina Jackson; her loving pride and joy grandchildren, Alexander Jackson, Kenton “KJ” Jackson, Bryce Jackson, Kameron Jackson, Skylar Henry, and Kaylani Jackson. She also leaves her sisters: Leila Wadel, Rosi Berberich, and brothers: Karl (Heike) Kempf, Joseph (Monica) Kempf; two brother-in-laws, Emmett Jackson and Nepoleon Jackson; sister-in-laws, Paula Jackson, and Kathy Jackson; and a host of nieces and nephews, a dear cousin, Ingrid Froelich; relatives and friends. She will truly be missed by all of those who loved and knew her.
