Monica Ray Richards

Monica Ray Richards, 69, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024. Monica was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.. She was a teacher for over 30 years. Monica loved to play Bunco with her high school friends, spending time at the lake with her family. She loved to travel and SHOP. Monica will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

She was born on June 20, 1954 in Louisville, Kentucky to Raymond and Sarah (Evans) Adams. She is preceded in death by her father, Raymond Adams; mother, Sarah Adams; brothers-in-law, Donald Richards and Gary Markert.

Monica is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Stephen Richards; son, Stephen Bradley (Shannon) Richards; daughter, Allison Taylor (Philip Spradling) Richards; grandchildren, Eva Rae Richards, Kaylee Jo Kirker, Layla Richards, Myla Spradling, Bryson Spradling, Luke Richards, Wesley Kirker, Bentley Spradling; sister, Tammy Markert; brothers-in-law, Mark (Betty) Richards, Bruce Richards, Scott (Sandra) Richards; sister-in-law, Ella Richards; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Incarnation Catholic Church.

The family requests that contributions in Monica ’s memory be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
