Mollie Elizabeth Thomas

Mollie Elizabeth Thomas was born on Sunday January 14, 1945, in Lafayette, Indiana to Naomi Giles and Wendell Rowe. Mollie took her last breath on peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

Mollie attended Central High School and a became a memeber of Cable Missionary Baptist Church in her early twenties. Mollie was an exemplary employee at Swift Meat Packing for 15 years and then worked at Miyama USA for 19 years where she retired.

Mollie was preceded in death by her parents Naomi Thomas and Wendell Rowe; her son James Lee Guthrie Jr. (Butter); her sisters Margaret Booth, Anita Thomas, Sarah Johnson and Velma Green.

Mollie is survived by her children Naomi Guthrie, Jessie Leach, Michael Hicks (Camille), Reginald Lewis, Tosha Harris (Jermel). 18 Grandchildren, 51 Great Grandchildren, and 11 Great Great Grandchildren. 5 Sisters, Sandy Rowe, Jessie Lee, Thelma Grant, Jenise Muex, and Patricia Hollenquest (Willie). Her Aunt Betha Rowe and a host of nieces and nephews.


Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals & Receptions- Southwest Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville). Visitation will resume on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 10:00 am until 12 noon at the Cable Baptist Church (314 South Wenzel Street, Louisville, KY). Her Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm on Saturday, at Cable Baptist Church with burial to follow at Green Meadows Cemetery.
